Synopsis:

“A.A. Milne’s classic characters -- Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and friends -- are back in this adventure straight from the Hundred Acre Wood. The irrepressible Tigger (voiced by Jim Cummings) goes in search of his family tree, hoping to find other Tiggers to play with. Along the way, the boisterous bouncer -- to the accompaniment of songs from the Oscar-winning team of Richard and Robert Sherman -- learns the true meaning of family.” — Netflix.com

Review:

This is another cute and charming movie in the Winnie the Poohanimated movies : series. This particular film focuses on Tigger, which was fun, as he is such an over-the-top character and really goes overboard on everything that he does. Tigger realizes that everyone else has stories about their families and starts wondering if he really is the only one. Before you know it, Tigger has created a whole history of memories and a huge Tigger family tree. Now all he has to do is find the striped tree and he will find his family, right? If only it were that easy! This film, like most of the Winnie the Poohanimated movies : series, comes with a message attached and the one in this film is that not everyone has a traditional type of family that they are born into. Some have a family made up of close friends and others that they choose to become attached to, like Tigger in this movie. This is a really positive message for children and hopefully will help them be a bit more inclusive of others and kind “adopt” them in.

There are a lot of fun songs in this movie, including my favorite, The Super-Dooper-Allie-Opper-Tigger-Ific-Bounce. It is about this crazy bounce that only Tiggers are supposed to be able to perform, but Roo is determined to learn it as he almost idolizes Tigger and looks up to him as a kid of big brother. And this is just one of many memorable songs that are featured in this film. Again, we are treated to Tigger’s original and creative way of speaking, where he uses words that sound like the ones he was trying to say, but have a different meaning altogether. It is really fun for adults to listen as Tigger always brings a smile to my face when I am watching the Winnie the Pooh movies. With classic Disney animation, bright colors, action, great sing-along songs and more, this is a wonderful DVD to rent for your children.
